We provide limited reference service to residents of Cedar Rapids and other patrons with Metro System Library cards. If you live outside the Cedar Rapids metro area, we can only answer questions which pertain to the Cedar Rapids area or to Linn County. There is a research fee of $15.00 for questions from non-residents without cards.

For other questions, please call your local library or visit their Web site to see if they offer a similar service.

We will provide short factual answers to specific questions. We have limited staff, so we cannot undertake extensive research. We would be happy to suggest ways that you could do extensive research on your own.

We will make every effort to respond to your question within two working days. Holidays and weekends might slow us down a bit. If we cannot quickly answer your question we will let you know.
