Learn all about duckbill dinosaurs and see and touch some of Iowa's Celebrity Dinosaur ‘s fossil bones when “The Fossil Guy” Don Johnson visits story time. Children and their adults can explore “Laura”, a young Hypacrosaurus,( a type of crested duck-billed dinosaur). Audience members will also get to examine teeth, claws, and even an egg from a number of different
duck-billed dinosaurs including Edmontosaurus and Maiasaura. Why was
this group of dinosaurs so successful that they are called the "cattle of the Cretaceous"? What were the shapes of these head crests, and what use did they have? How did they chew their food, what defenses did they have against predatory dinosaurs, and how did they raise their young? Bring your own questions to be answered about these most fabulous of dinosaurs.
