Commissioned by friends of Ada Van Vechten after her death, this window was designed by New York stained-glass artists R and J Lamb and presented to the library on Feb. 18, 1907 to honor the memory of the woman who initiated the first free public library in Cedar Rapids. Originally installed in the Carnegie library, the window was relocated to the 1985 library building and again to the current Downtown Library in 2013. It is currently on the second story, near the skywalk entrance.
