Jan. 9, 2025 – Construction continues on the Westside Library as we enter 2025, and winter weather is fully upon us. Weather plays a critical role this time of year, and the project team is monitoring and adjusting work accordingly.
Interior footings and exterior wall footings were poured, and the west parking lot subdrains have been installed. Contractors have finished forming and pouring the basement walls along with installing the north sanitary sewer line. As weather gets colder, they are employing methods to protect the concrete walls and footings from frost. By mid-January, structural steel should be erected in the basement. It is anticipated that winter weather will slowdown on-site work, but behind the scenes work continues.
The design team is finalizing the details of the fit and finish of the interior of the building, working with both trustees and staff throughout this process.
The new year is off to a great start, and we look forward to sharing the construction journey with everyone along the way.
